Yes, this is the final blog post before the 2019 school year ends. However, I'm hoping that this won't be the end of this project.
I'm aiming to continue this throughout the summer and into the next school year. This will mostly entail updating the Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as keeping up on the latest pro-life news (and on that topic, great job Alabama!). On top of this, I'm planning to start a club next year at my school through the Students for Life program. I've begun preparations already, such as looking for people who would be interested. I'll continue preparing throughout the summer so that we can start meeting right as the school year begins. All that being said, I doubt I'll keep updating this blog throughout the summer. We'll see what happens. If recruitment is successful, I might resume posting once the 2019-2020 school year begins. See you next fall!

This is a short update, but I'm happy to announce that after a few more tries, I have successfully launched a Facebook and Twitter profile for this movement! Links are in the Contact section on this site. Hopefully now everything can move forward as I have planned. As always, any feedback is appreciated!
I haven't been able to make as much headway on this project as I would have liked. The one major snag I've hit so far comes from the fact that the movement I've envisioned is so heavily social media based. However, whenever I've tried to make an account on Facebook or Twitter for the movement, the account is disabled after a few minutes for no apparent reason. Or at least that was what I thought when it happened.
After doing a bit of research, I discovered that Twitter and Facebook block profiles that use the phrase "killing children" or anything similar. Admittedly, I understand why they would do this--taken out of context, this phrase seems like it could only have negative connotations. My problem is, I'm trying to spread awareness of what I believe abortion really is. Murder. I don't want to have to gloss over that fact. I want to be able to call it what it is. But I don't know if I can do that. Whether or not these social media sites are blocking this phrase specifically to target pro-life movements, I don't know. I would like to believe that's not the case, but in a world like today's--a world where most everything we see is political propaganda--it's hard to be sure. But I am sure of this: I won't let this minor setback get in the way of spreading truth. I'll figure out a way to work around this issue. Then the project can move forward. Hello everyone! My name is Jenna, and I am the creator of the Lives4Life movement.
I've been passionate about the pro-life viewpoint for a while. Although abortion has not affected my life in any major way yet, hearing other people's stories has inspired me to take a stand. That's why, through this project, I want to encourage other people who have been affected to share their stories. I think this is the best way to show people what being pro-life is really about. A few years ago, I had the privilege of attending the March for Life in Washington D.C. as part of a group project. This event is, if I'm not mistaken, the largest organized pro-life event in the United States. I got to be part of the hundreds of thousands of people peacefully taking a stand for life, which was one of the coolest things I've ever done. It was extremely eye-opening because it showed me that there are a ton of people--young people especially--who are just as passionate about this as I am. Attending the March was what fueled me to keep fighting for life in my community. If I hadn't gone, I doubt I would be working on this project now. That's a bit of background about me and why I've chosen to start this movement. If you're reading this, I hope you'll continue to stay active with the movement and check back on this page in the coming days for more updates. See you then! |
